detective work, patrols, Intelligence, traffic, bomb disposal,
criminal identification, investigations, Border Guard, anti-terrorism,
Civil Guard and combat.

Israel Police Recruitment Procedure
·
Israeli citizenship.
·
Under the age of 35.
·
After full military service or legal exemption from military service.
·
Compliance with compatibility test requirements.

At least 12 years’ education.
·
Perfect health.

Compliance with security test requirements.
IDF officers with
training and experience which can be applied to relevant officer
duties, and who successfully undergo the selection process, will be
recruited in accordance with their IDF rank.
Recruits with
applicable academic qualifications will be inducted as officers.
IDF officers and
university graduates without relevant training will be inducted with
the rank of sergeant major/cadet officer and will undergo police
training.
The Israel Police
encounters difficult and complex tasks relating to maintaining law and
order and internal security on a daily basis. In order to accommodate
this work, the police needs skilled and top quality personnel. As a
candidate for recruitment to the Israel Police you will undergo strict
selection and placement processes in order to test your suitability
for service.

If
your are found to be initially suitable for recruitment you will be
mailed guidelines from the Recruitment Center regarding the rest of
the process and you will receive a date for selection testing.
·
The
initial selection process includes selection tests, interviews at a
police unit, medical check and security investigation.
Very important
– if you are unwell on the selection test day, request a deferment!
As part of the
selection procedure you will be referred to an assessment center in
order to test your suitability for police service in terms of
operational ability and personal compatibility.
At this stage, you
will spend 2-3 days in boarding school conditions at the police’s
operational ability school at Ne’urim (near Netanya).
The selection
process is designed to test the following areas:

Abilities suitable for the job
– compatibility testing will take the form of different types of tests
and exercises, some individual and some in a group. The tests will be
conducted by Israel Police operational ability instructors and
psychologists.
·
Operational fitness
– the level of operational fitness will refer to heart-lung endurance
(2,000 m. run for men, 1,000 m. run for women), muscle power, agility
and balance in dynamic fields and basic firearms skills.
Our
recommendation: take care of your physical fitness gradually and
consistently in order to improve your chances of success in the
operational fitness tests.
After meeting all
the Israel Police selection requirements, you will be invited to the
Recruitment Center to be sworn in as a police officer.
The first year of
your service will be a trial period.
Police officers
assigned to roles for which the basic training is a police officer’s
course will be invited to the course via their units. The police
officer’s course incorporates 3 training periods:

Training at the operational fitness school – 4 weeks.
·
Basic policing – 7 weeks.
·
Sector or professional completion (including apprenticeship at the
unit) – 14 weeks.
