A Policeman at the Scene of the Accident

You are legally required to obey the instructions of the policeman, and present all the required documents, such as ID card, driving license, vehicle license (car registration), and insurance policy certificate.

Important!!! In case of an accident with injuries, do not move your vehicle from the scene of the accident without permission from the policeman, except where necessary to save human life.

You must give also give a statement about the incident as soon as possible, in coordination with the policeman in charge.

If no policeman arrives at the scene of the incident, you are legally required to communicate your personal particulars to the injured person: your full name and ID card number, your insurance policy number, and the particulars of the vehicle. You are also legally required to report the accident to the police. If the state of the injured person makes it impossible to communicate to him your particulars (for example, if he is unconscious), this must be reported to the police.
