As Either an Injured or the Responsible Party, How Will You be Involved in this Investigation?
|
|
When the policeman investigating the accident arrives at the scene, you can take part in the reconstruction
of the accident at the scene of the incident itself by indicating the locations of any of the following,
as they were just before the accident: you, your car, a pedestrian, and/or another vehicle involved
in the accident, or whose driver witnessed the accident.
You will also be asked to give a detailed statement about the incident. If you and/or any of the passenger(s)
in your vehicle were injured, you will be required to attach medical documents indicating the bodily harm
caused to you and/or the passenger(s) in your vehicle. If your vehicle was damaged without any person in
the accident suffering any bodily harm, you will be required to submit objective evidence of the damage.
Such evidence can consist of a report by an insurance company assessor, a clear photograph of the damage,
or bringing the vehicle to the police station to enable the investigating policeman to view it personally.
